Four diploma nursing programs previously offered through teaching hospitals and the degree nursing program offered by Dalhousie University have been merged. This evaluation will assess both the learning outcomes of the program and the appropriateness of the collaborative arrangements for offering nursing education.

Agricultural Institute of Canada and 4 Atlantic Provinces� Institutes of Agrology
A learning needs assessment, using surveys, was carried out to advise provincial Institutes of Agrology on a program of continuing education.

Medical Society of Nova Scotia and Dalhousie University
A learning needs assessment of all physicians in Nova Scotia was conducted using surveys and focus groups. The information was used to advise the University on changes in a program of continuing education.

Medical Services Branch, Health Canada and School of Nursing, Dalhousie University
This assessment on the appropriateness of the training provided by the Community Health and Outpost Nursing Program for its intended communities was conducted through community visits and survey of graduates and employers.

This case study research and report preparation for 6 program sites of a federal provincial research project on school-to-work transition advised curriculum planning on the topic.

Disabled Persons Commission and Nova Scotia Department of Community Services
A consultation with disabled persons and advocacy organizations was designed, facilitated and reported in preparation for federal-provincial negotiation to revise the Vocational Rehabilitation for Disabled Persons Act.

Vocational Rehabilitation for Disabled Persons Program, Nova Scotia Department of Education and Culture
This research gathered information through focus groups with users in Nova Scotia as well as by telephone interview with government agencies and consumer groups across Canada. The research advised Nova Scotia�s design for this federally funded programs.
